The CLAW Aircraft Anchoring System kit contains three collapsable triangular mechanical anchors. Each leg of the anchor has provisions for a special sholdered spike that is inserted and driven into the ground. Due to the angle of each spike in the ground, as a vertical force is being exerted on the center ring that holds the rope, the hold-down force increases. Based on the information provided by the manufacturer, each anchor of the Claw has the capability of holding 1200 pounds or 3600 pounds total load.

The total kit weighs 8 pounds, contains three mechanical anchors, 9 spikes, 25 feet of 1/2 inch nylon rope and a special hammer for removing the spikes and a storage bag.
