Memory or VFO Operation
This private pilot version of the IC-A4 can receive and transmit in VFO mode for on the fly channel selection.

Memory channels
EEPROM (non-volatile memory) retains memory channel information if the power runs out, or the radio is turned off. There's no need to re-enter the settings... ever!

The IC-A4 Aviation Transceiver is tough!
The IC-A4 features a rugged, die-cast aluminum chassis, and a super-tough polycarbonate front panel.

Compact size.
Small enough to comfortably fit inside a pocket, and yet the built-in loud speaker is audible in the most noisy of cockpits.

Side-tone permits hearing your own transmitted audio while using a standard aviation headset.

Optional 1050 mAh battery is available for extra operating time. The optional battery has the same physical size as the supplied 700 mAh battery.

The "Sport" version uses alkaline batteries instead of rechargeable Ni-Cd. Alkaline power works great for people who want a low maintenance, long storage life power supply. The IC-A4 "Sport" comes with an AA Alkaline battery case instead of a Ni-Cd battery. Battery charger is not included.
